Insight:

In working on this project and seeing the end result, I have seen how the audience can take a narrative's concept even further.

With the blend of intentional design, interactive elements, and organic participation created a memorable and impactful experience, fostering a deeper connection to the act of voting and its power to shape the future. It was unexpected, as there was no "designed"prompt for participants to write on the pillar, but it showed me that I did take a choice of leaving the center pillar blank, and it indirectly signaled interactions. I was pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful engagement, and as my first campaign project, I cannot ask for more of a perfect reaction!

Metaphors through Interaction

What did I learn from this experience?

Artifact 02:

Alongside the poster, I designed a 20 page booklet that goes through Rahman's core collections, as well as introducing who he is and how those

experiences are interwoven into his design philosophy. The booklet

explores the inspirations behind his work, such as his Bangladeshi

heritage, his upbringing in London,

and his commitment to sustainable fashion practices.

The booklet emphasizes a scrapbook feel, with pieces of cloth and pictures layered together to reflect Rahman's designs - intimate and authentic. The design aims to mirror the fusion

of tradition and modernity found in Rahman’s collections, while also evoking the craftsmanship and storytelling that define his work.

Artifact 01:

The first design deliverable is an 24x36 inch informational poster that tells the story of Rahmeur Rahman through color, typography, geometry, and abstraction. By hand drawing and layering Rahman's iconic textile patterns together references traditional Bangladeshi textile design, tying the visual language directly to Rahman's heritage and his focus on reinterpreting identity.

The asymmetric composition creates a dynamic and layered effect, reflecting the multidimensional aspect of Rahman’s designs. Patterns are layered with a sense of controlled chaos, overlapping in

irregular blocks. This layering creates depth and reflects Rahman’s creative process of intertwining past and present. The irregular edges of the patterns combined with modern textures, give the design a handmade, organic feel.
