New Ways to Interact with Friends
Bumble launched BFF to help its predominantly young audience expand their social circles, and now aims to leverage location data to power a premium feature that reduces drop-off and ultimately boosts activation and retention.

Right now, when users match on Bumble, they often get stuck in short or generic conversations that stall and never progress toward meeting in person.

Through conducting both primary and secondary research, we found that a large portion of Bumble’s users are young professionals whose busy schedules make it difficult to sustain momentum after matching.
Problem
Bumble’s interface lacks support for offline interaction, making it hard for users to turn matches into lasting, real-world connections beyond work.

Each iteration taught me how to enhance usability while honoring the brand’s clean, simple interface. I realized that true UX impact comes from thoughtful evolution, not overhaul, of existing frameworks.
